Day 19
"Look closely. The beautiful may be small." -- Emmanuel Kant
Beauty. It lies around us everyday -- not only in the grand things we immediately notice, but in the small, simple things -- the things we forget to take time to notice. So what beautiful things did I notice today? - The color of my children's eyes -- one blue, like her dad, and the other's, I still think changing, to be more like mine.
- The simple joy of holding my husband's hand -- warm and familiar -- still a perfect fit.
- The doting look of my dog -- what animal loves you more than it loves itself?
- The warmth of the winter sun on my face -- promises of spring.
- The sweetness of an orange from my backyard tree -- they smell divine and taste even better!
- The giggles of my girls while they play with their dad -- that always makes me smile.
- A yellow swallowtail resting in our front yard tree -- nature at it's best.
- The sleeping faces of my children -- they look so relaxed and peaceful. Sometimes I like to just stop and watch them and hope to remember that quiet moment for the rest of my life.
